About Gitano

Gitanodelnorte has been a performer, recording artist, and teacher for over 30 years. He has taught at Portland State University and Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. He presently has 3 CD's available at Tower Records and online. His latest is called "The Art of Flamenco" Gitano's influences are the great Sabicas, Serranito, Paco De Lucia, Ramon Montoya, Pepe Romero, Segovia and many others. Gitano studied music theory, counterpoint and composition with: Norman Leyden, Oregon Symphony Conductor, John Trudeau, Oregon Symphony French Horn, Trumpet and Flugal Horn player, and composer Robert Stoltz in Portland, Or. Gitano now resides in Southern Oregon.
